iPad Videoconferencing Using Skype for Business Instructions

These instructions help illustrate how to use videoconference technology using Skype for Business on an iPad.

Connecting to the Videoconference

  • Open App store and search Skype for Business
  • Touch Get to install app, and once installed, touch open
  • Three notifications will appear. It's up to the user to choose the Notifications and Contacts. Select OK to access the microphone
  • Sign in using your Office 365 username and password
  • Enter your telephone number and select the arrow
  • In Search for Contacts, type conference information provided by Technician (ie. abc123@video.dbctl.com) and select Search
  • Select the conference information in contacts and click the video icon to dial into conference
  • When connecting the first time, select OK to access your camera
  • Once connected, you will see participants if they connect prior to your connection

Controls When Connected to the Conference

  • If the video icon is blue and the user sees picture-in-picture, the video is unmuted and participants can see the user.
  • Click the camera icon to send/stop sending video to participants. If the video icon is black and picture-in-picture is minimized, the video is muted and participants cannot see the user.
  • Click the microphone icon to mute/unmute. When muted, the icon is black. When the icon is blue, the microphone is live and participants can hear the user.
